Today in maths we were learning to multiply fractions. We were in a little group of 7 and each had different question. We were in this group because we needed extra help. We used counters to solve the problem. Here are some pictures of us solving the problems. I have to practice my maths at home to accelerate in my learning.
We are a class of Year 6 and 7 students at Glen Innes School in Auckland "The city of Sails" New Zealand. Our teacher is Mrs Manor Ramkolowan

Huntah- Swimming Sports
Swimming sports 2017
Today some students and me worked hard in the swimming competition. Not every student swam, but most of us did. When I entered the swimming I heard everybody cheering as loudly. It was like s a siren piercing my ears. In all my races I came first, but I think my opponents could do better if they practiced. Swimming was quite difficult . I struggled with butterfly. Overall I am really happy with my places in swimming.

Alicia- Statistical Investigation on Volleyball skills of room 8 students
Today we used a google spreadsheet to find the mean or average and draw graphs for our volleyball skills.
We then used our online tools to find our bar graph and pie graph. These are the graphs for my skills of volley, digging, serve, spike and block. We also used it to calculate the numbers to find the average. Overall I think the online tools were very easy to use.

Today on divisibility rules I thought it was a bit easy but I still need to work on my division so that in the future I know how to do these type of steps. I hope that by the end of march I get five stars and then be able to do division and multiplication fast.

Harrison - Statistical Investigation
Walt: conduct a statistical investigation.
We used google maps to determine the walking distance to 124 Apirana Avenue. This is the entrance to the Omaru Creek that we are studying. The screenshot shows the route, distance and time from my house to the creek. Furthest away was Zain who was 4.8km away and it would take him 59 minutes to walk. Jolie however live the closest only 550m away which by walking is 7 minutes. Harrison lives in East Tamaki so I had to work out how far it would be from the train station Next, we will be calculating the mean and the median.

Rebecca - Being Good with Money
Today I have learnt about being good with my money. I can be good with my money by saving it for emergencies. In the future I will try my hardest to make good decisions with my money. I will give advice to my siblings because they spend their money a lot instead of saving it. Anina did well teaching me me on how to be good with my money.
