Nataliyar- Food Technology

Yesterday at tech we made Jam doughnut Muffins. It was so much fun because I did it with my partner Rebecca. It was so easy to make because my partner and I listened to what we had to do. We all got 6 muffins each. Everyone enjoyed making them and eating them.

Harrison- Physical and Chemical Changes

On Thursday the 25th of May a select group of students attended the science roadshow. The first thing that we attended was the physical and chemical show. In this they showed us the difference between physical and chemical changes. A chemical change is when you change something that makes something new usually with no chance to be reversed and a physical change is when you change something and it still stays the same but can also be reversed.

Heather- Sophisticated Picture Books

Image result for The steadfast tin soldier

If I had to recommend this book to anyone it would be to my older sister. She is the only sibling I have that enjoys reading as much as I do. I think that she would enjoy this book because it’s interesting and mysterious, things that my sister likes. We also watch a lot of Korean drama which most of the time is about a boy fighting for the one he loves. Which is like the Tin soldier in this story. Even though the goblin threw the Tin soldier out the window he still stood steadfast until he returned back to the lady he loved, the paper dancer.

Siunipa- Food Technology

In food tech we made Oreo milkshakes.  This is my first time in Ms Heka's class and I really enjoyed it, because I really wanted to learn how to make little things like this. It was delicious when I tasted it and hope to make it again. Our focus on food technology is pastry making.

Alicia- AUT Combinations in Maths

WALHT: Work out the outcomes

When we went on our trip on Tuesday Aut provided a healthy lunch for the students. There was a variety of options. We used this information in a maths lesson and we had to work out the number of outcomes. After we added the meat we used the salad. When I counted the outcomes there were six. With the salads there were 24 outcomes. Overall I found this very easy and I would do this again

Siunipa- Thank You Nestle and Michelle for the Brilliant Activities.

collage.jpg

After we did relays on the track it was our turn to go to rock climbing with Kiri, the instructor.  We got our harnesses on and followed some rules. Were off climbing the walls.  As I was climbing I was looking from side to side to see if all the other kids were at the top.  I had to let go but I was so scared I hung on the wall for about 2 minutes, then finally I let go off the wall and held onto my rope.  Just then Natalia let me down slowly, because I was so scared didn’t climb the walls again. Thank you to Kiri for teaching us rock climbing.

Alicia - NZ Herald Sideswipe

As seen, people are hiring people that can work without their cell phone or social media.

Nearly everybody has a phone these days and I will say that it is true that we all find it hard to stay off social media. My mum works for a very important company called NZ Blood. Because it is very important she is only allowed to use her cell phone when she is on her break. She doesn’t complain about it though. If I were to have a similar job when I grow up, I would find it hard for the first time because I wouldn’t be used to it. I do think that it is a good idea at the end of the day because it will keep you focused in your work so you can finish it in time. I think that I would give this work a try.
