Clearissa Narrative writing The Penguin with a Problem

The penguin with a problem

It’s been three days since I haven’t been home. All I saw was white blocks of gigantic ice. The temperature was worser than New Zealand. I went to my wardrobe to put on extra layers. As I was holding onto the side-bar, I could see a penguin from a distance.

Just a little pinch of light led me to the penguin. It squealed and squealed. I felt like it was squealing  for me. On it’s white coated, beautiful fur, it had drips of blood. I was shocked. I grabbed one more jacket and ran off the ship. Tears were running down the penguins face. Since my job was saving antarctica animals, I’d assumed I would help.

I sprinted back onto the ship. I could feel the coldness punch my cheeks. It was night time so I was sure to take my glow in the dark torch. I ran to the front of the ship to ring somebody. I heard crackling noises. Inside my heart, I was struggling. Maybe this poor penguin needed me? So I went back to the penguin with an axe.

The axe was razor blade sharp and incredibly big. I started axing the ice. I was careful enough to dodge the penguin. It shrieked loudly over night. My ears turned red. I was near the penguins feet by then. At 6 am in the morning the penguin was loose to roam again. I fell on the cold harden ice. After a few hours of sleep in my ship, I went back to New Zealand.

The news spread wide world quickly. Everyone was clueless with no evidence given. Five years later somebody went to antarctica and found the penguin. That person sore the scare hidden beneath the fur. I became a little bit famous. The person who found the penguin.....

Walt: explain the Maori contribution to time.

Matariki

Matariki is the Maori name for a group of stars. Matariki begins at the end of the harvesting season. Maori celebrate Matariki because it is the Maori contribution to time. Matariki is history.

Celebrations

My tribe, in Ruatoki celebrates Matariki together. Before Matariki starts, everyone gathers in there food and stores it away from the cold, outside. Matariki is a time for remembering the dead and celebrating the new life. The songs that are played are tribal traditional songs. The Maori songs has been passed on through many generations.

Contribution to time

The Maori contributed to time in a very unique way. Maori could read time by the stars when they travel at night on the sea. Tawhirimatea, a early Maori teared his eyes out and flung them into the heavens. The 7 stars is a story. There are many different legends based on the stars.

What is your favourite sport and why?
Touch, because there is a lot of running and a lot of people play it. In my school, touch is very popular and is the number one game we play.

Explain what you do on the weekend?
On the weekends I go to Panmure Wharf and  to play and swim.I also meet up with friends and hang out with them.

What is your favourite food and why?
My favourite food is Homemade pies because it is simple to make. I always make it myself with only my mums help My mum buys the ingredients for me and I cook it .

What is your future planning when you become an adult and why?
When I grow up I want to become a police officer. I was inspired by a man who almost saved a lady from burning to death. He through a wet cloth over her but she was already dead. So sad that the lady did not survive.

Do you go training for any sport and where?
Yes I do go training, I go UFC fighting in Mission Bay because when I grow up I will know how to stand my ground. I will protect myself.

Is your future planning big?
It is not really big. All I want to do is study hard and go to university, to become  a police officer.

Is cell phones appropriate for children and why?
Cell phones is appropriate for children, so the children can text their parents to tell them where they are going after school. They can ring for help too.

What are your favourite Television programmes and why?
Comedy programmes because it is way too hilarious for me. Some of them make me laugh.

Walt: write a report about on my survey.

Survey and report

Recently, I came up with an idea to figure out what time the students at Glen Innes school, would like to go home? I came up with only 5 ideas. At lunch time and morning tea, I walked around searching for students and their answers. Fifty students were surveyed.

I used excel to draw my graph. My data was represented in a column graph.

The results revealed that the students mostly ticked other. The 2nd time was 5:00 pm and 3rd was 6:30pm. The two least best time was 5:30 pm and 6:00 pm. 5:30 pm had 1 student and 6:00 pm had zero.

Most children probably voted for other because they don't play or they don't come back till very late. The other reason  is because the parents don't care or the children just don't listen.
