Matthew Halloween
Halloween is the scariest event in the year
It makes me fill up with fear
Every kid with a mask
I can’t take this task
We go to a house and knock on the door
We say trick or treat but they just roar
I have a basket full of treats
So I keep on knocking on doors in the streets.

Matthew,Rheumatic Fever
Walt: respond to the presentation given by the public health dept.
Prevention is better than Cure
On 6 August, the whole school of Glen Innes school went to the hall to talk about Rheumatic fever. It was a special assembly. Dr Alison Leversha from Star ship Hospital came to us. It took 25 minutes. Three Warriors players and an X Warrior player came to us to interest us to take care of you throat. The three Vodafone Warriors showed us when a doctor comes in a class and say who has a sore throat you will get a swab by a nurse. I thought the Vodafone Warriors was going to talk about Rheumatic fever, but they didn’t.
In conclusion I think that I should take care of my throat. Sore throats leads to Rheumatic fever and that could lead to death.

Hard materials is so exciting by Matthew

On most Mondays the year seven students from room 11 and room 12 go to technology after morning tea. We go on a bus. It is at Tamaki College. Our teacher is Mr Grundy. Mr Grundy handed out some paper to everyone We were in a workshop. We used a saw to cut the wood. A try square is what we used to make our joints straight. We used a bench vice to clamp the wood in place before cutting it with a saw. Four people sit at each bench. Firstly, we have to plan our housing joint. Secondly, choose your best joint and draw it big on a big piece of paper. Thirdly, make your joint.
Hard materials is so exciting. I am making a rubbish truck. The part that I enjoyed the most was designing the five ideas.
