Ketura- Maths Enlargement

Today we had to enlarge a picture that we had chosen, to draw on the asphalt outside. First, I had to draw my grid on a paper, to see what it would like on the ground. The next day, we all had to go outside to measure and draw our grid. My grid was a 7 by 9 grid. The picture that I had to enlarge outside on the asphalt was an elephant.

To draw my picture using my grid, I had to count the squares while drawing my elephant accurately. I worked out my scale factor which was: 1cm represented 30cm. Enlarging a picture on the asphalt was difficult because some of the things that I drew were in the wrong place.

Your enlargement drawing on your elephant is very cool and big. For my enlargement outside, I drew a fish. For me 1cm represented 20cm. How long did this take you?.

  2. Talofa Lava ketura,

When we had to choose an image to draw outside up on the courts, I hadn't thought of drawing an elephant. I thought that was a great Idea! because by the look of your elephant, It looked very difficult and challenging to do and I don't think i would be able to draw it. Instead, I drew a milkshake. It looked easy, but I found it abit hard to draw outside because I couldn't draw it accurately on my grid. Why did you choose an elephant?

  3. Kia orana Ketura,
I really like your scale art, it looks amazing. It looks exactly like your original picture. I also did one but my one was a picture of skull wearing glasses. It was easy for me because how I'm good at drawing but it took a while for me to do it. What was the difficulties for you to draw the elephant exactly the same as your picture?
