This is a picture of my Chinese Dragon. It is coloured with blue red and green. The outline it black. I think this art was very cool because I didn't know that I could draw a dragon.

Natasha Shackleton is a very good artist. She paints at home. She likes painting with pencils and paint brushes. She can draw with any medium. She is passionate about creativity and art. She is also a custom tattooist. Her paintings involve New Zealand birds and landscapes. She inspired me so much that I created a painting of her own.

Chase Fireworks

It was time for John’s first day of fireworks. John had never done fireworks before. His face was red. He said to himself that he was afraid. He went to his room and stayed in there. He didn’t come out.

When night began fireworks flew through the wind and blew up into little ashes. John was scared of the very bright light when the fireworks blew up. John heard a sound calling from downstairs. It was his mother. His mother was calling him to come and hold a sparkler. He didn’t know that his family does fireworks. But it seems that they do. John went down the stairs silently so that his mother didn’t know that he came down. He got caught by his dad. He was sent to hold the sparkler. John was trying his best to get away from the sparkler. But suddenly a little spinning cascade flew just through his legs and blew up. He yelled and then he ran back to his room.

John rushed to his bed and covered his entire body with his blanket. He couldn’t close his eyes. Everytime he tried to close it fireworks exploded. John saw a box of sparklers in his room and he saw a lighter. He knew that he wasn’t allowed touch the lighter. He picked up the lighter and he lit up the sparklers. He had goose bumps. He thought that he will burn. He was feeling little sparks on his hand. John then wasn’t afraid of the fireworks any more.

John went downstairs and enjoyed the fireworks with his family. Everyone was happy.

The theme of the story is that fireworks is not scary if handled correctly.      

   

Chase: Crops grown by Ancient Egyptians

This is a picture about an Egyptian basket full of crops. There are many kinds of food in the basket. I drew crops that grew in Egypt. The food that I drew was grapes, melons, cucumber, onions, lettuce and barley.

This is a card game which I am learning about. The answer I have is 10 and 3. The point of this game is to add up to 13. So 10+3=13. The game was like my topic. I am learning about Egypt. Next I would like to learn harder games than this.  

Chase's report on Pyramids of Giza

Walt:write an information report.

The pyramids were built because when the pharaoh dies the Egyptians would put him into a tomb then finally put him into the pyramid. The pyramid was built over 2000 years before Christ. The pyramid was built to protect the pharaoh’s body.  

The Great pyramid was built for Pharaoh Khufu.  King Khufu ruled Egypt for over 20 years.  

Khufu’s pyramid was built in Giza. It was built on a plateau. The pyramid was built away from Cairo. The pyramid entrance was always in the north. The pyramid was part of other buildings.

The pyramids height was almost 7 metres high. The Egyptians used 2,300,000 limestone blocks. The pyramid was the tallest structure before the Eiffel Tower was built.

People are allow to go into the pyramid. You have to be fit to go in the pyramid because the tunnels are skinny. Mostly tourist explore the giant pyramid. Inside the pyramid is very small. Khufu’s pyramid was one of the seven wonders.

Chase's Term 1 Reflections on Learning

Reading

In reading my overall was a 2P which was disappointing for me because it wasn’t above the national standard. I did not achieved much. I had no gaps in reading. I need to achieved lots of things.  I got a 2A in ideas and deep thinking. For the rest I got a 2P, except for one. The thing I need to achieve is to make links between different parts of the text. I need to listen what my teacher is talking about so that I can be at the national standard.

Maths

I was below the national standard and I wasn't impressed with myself. For my overall  result I got a 3P. My gap was to use equations to represent practical situations. I need to learn to sketch and interpret graphs which represent everyday situations.

For geometry and statistics I got a 3B. I was below the national standard. I think my parents won’t be impressed with my work. I need to learn to draw and explain simple scale maps. I want to get a 4B at everything so that my parents will be proud of me. If I listen then I might get a 4B. My gap was to describe situation represented by statistical  data displays. I have achieved designs and making

patterns using translation, reflection and rotation.

For next term I hope that I get a 4B in my reading and maths.

What is your favourite car?
My favourite car is an Audi r8 because its fast and it looks cool. Audi r8’s are mostly kept clean  and shiny.

Tell me about your favourite movie?
My favourite movie is Harry Potter because there is magic and magic is one of my favourite things.

What is your favourite sport?
I would like to say that my favourite sport is all sports. But my very very favourite is rugby league.

What kind of food do you eat?
I eat butter chicken because it’s yum and tasty. I also eat sushi because the filling inside is delicious.

What is your favourite gun?
My favourite gun is a sniper with thermal scope because it’s strong and one shot will put them to sleep.

Tell me about your favourite game?
My favourite game is 8 ball pool because you have to hit all your balls into the hole.

What is your favourite song and why?
My favourite song is long living asap by rocky and josh tune. The thing that I  like about that song is the beat is cool and the voice sounds cool.

What is your favourite colour?
My favourite colour is black because it mostly goes with every colour and whenever I use black it makes me feel happy.

What is your favourite teacher?
My favourite teacher is Miss Barry because she is the sports teacher and sports is my thing. Miss Barry does every sports and thats why Miss Barry is my favourite teacher.
